Runcu Raccay was also found by Bingham (the guy who found Machu Picchu). He considered it a fortress. But it was probably a tambo, a resting place for travelers. Because the view point form the building doesn't have any military advantage. |

Again, Sayac Marca was also found by Bingham (surprised). It was too weak to be a fortress, it doesn't have enough farmland to be a farming post and it's too big to be a tambo so no one has any clue what this place is for. But I am sure it's a perfect place to watch the sunset (if the sun wasn't hidden by the fogs). It was getting dark, we didn't have time to explore it so we came back the next morning. |
