t first glance this RCA TV seems like a great deal. It has a decent picture and sound for under 200 dollars. It also looks great too. The case isn't clunky and the color of the case itself is nice. (For those who care about the color of their TV) However this TV has some major flaws.
First of all, the TV takes forever to power up. From the time that the TV is first turned on to when one actually sees a picture about 10-20 seconds elapse. It's reminiscent of the old TVs where the tubes has to worm up. Secondly, the TV randomly shuts off. No, I don't have a sleep feature on, it just shuts off. Sometimes after five minutes, sometimes after 4 hours. It's very inconsistent and annoying as well. Third, with a DVD player or VCR the volume has to be turned WAY up (almost to the max) to hear the sound. Lastly, after turning the TV to TV video to use a dvd player, the TV automatically goes back to channel 1 instead of the channel that was being watched previously.
Hopefully this review helped. I guess you really get what you pay for when you buy a TV.

I just purchased this TV, and now I am sending it back.
As soon as I turned on the TV and got the picture, I noticed a strange purple
tint on the top right corner of the picture tube, as well as the bottom left corner. The middle of the screen had a perfect clear image. I knew before I even tried to adjust the picture that it was a losing battle. Clearly something greater was wrong with the tube. I was correct. Adjusting the picture did not help.
It's very dissapointing. I should have known that anything like a 24'' Tv for $169.00 had to be to good to be true. Oh well. Once bitten as they say. I'll never make this mistake again. I'll save my money and get a more expensive model like a Sony or a Toshiba. And I'll never buy another RCA again.
Incidently, it's made in Taiwan. Cheap parts, cheap labor, cheaply made. Buy it at your own risk!!
