Indy fans, this is the game you have been waiting for. I love Indy, and this is a cool game. The graphics look nice, although slightly lacking in some spots. The cars control well, and they corner nicely. There is multiplayer racing for 2 players, but no online support.

If you are an Indy fan, buy this game. It is the only Indycar game on next generation consoles, except for the upcoming Xbox port. Indy fans will love the complete collection of cars, tracks, and drivers.

If you are not an Indy fan, this might not be your favorite game, however. Unlike F1, the tracks don't have as many turns. And unlike NASCAR, you might not recognize all of the drivers. This isn't F1, CART, or NASCAR, but if you like Indycar, this game is a great buy. There is a fairly deep career mode, also.

Overall, if you like Indy, buy it. If you don't know what Indy is, pass on it. If you only have a mild interest in this kind of racing, Atari's Grand Prix Challenge is cheaper, and might be a better purchase.

At first this game didn't look too exciting because I usually like Road Racing games like F1, Pro Race Driver, and Cart. But since this game was the first opened wheeled oval tracked car game I decided to buy it. When I did I was amazed. The car graphics were awsome and it was extremely realistic. There are caution flags, pace cars, and you even get to control the car during a yellow, and if you do pass someone you will get black flagged and will have to come for a stop and go or be disqualified. If you tap the wall you can end up damaging your suspension, ruining your electronics, and having to come in the pits because your car is misfiring on the straight going 225 mph. These are the exact same cars from the 2002 IRL series. There are about 8 training classes to do before entering the series so you can get prepared. Of course you don't have to do them if you don't want to. Also, when you go in the pits with some damage the pit team will actually look like they're trying to fix the problem. Overall, this game rocks!! The gameplay is smooth and crisp and there isn't any slow down. That's what I like about the game. So if you like any types of motorsports, then you should check this game out.

If you are a fan of racing sims, this game is for you. Even is you are not a fan of indycar, buy this game and you will soon be a fan. Wheel to wheel excitement and all the fun of the month of may at the Indy 500, you cant pass it up. Great driving engine also and realistic feel.
