"Chop! Two have swallowed by the sea." he heard the whisper of the talking bird.

The prey must be dead but the chopping sound never stopped. It only came closer.

Chapter 4 - The Dog

Matthew opened his eyes. This time it was a small village town. Chop! It was from the dog that sheltered under the small shadow of its doghouse. It opened its mouth again, a formidable redness surrounded by a ring of pointed teeth, as if to give out a silent barking. The muscles connecting the jaws extended like the string of the strongest bow and -- chop -- it snapped shut, biting off the emptiness hanging in the mid air.

"You ugly clumsy biggy," Bryan shouted, "come and bite me!" And he withdrew a stone from his black jacket and flung it at the dog.
