I went to Copacabana from La Paz. Lake Titicaca is 4 km above sea level and La Cupula is located at the upper part of a hill. If you walk up to the hotel like I did, you have to accept whatever price they charge you because they know you can't walk away (it's not funny to walk up the hill with a 20 kg backpack at 4km Altitude on the 2nd day of your trip). The view is good, you can see the beach from your room. It could even be romantic if you go there with someone in the opposite sex.
