Someone found some pegs in the desert, it was thought that the Nazca people used those as the pivot for their giant compass. The most believable theory was that the Nazca lines correspond to the constellations on the sky and they used it mainly as a giant calendar. At some particular time, the sunlight will pass through a particular line. Well, there are so many lines there, it's hard to say if it's a coincident or something else.
