I loved the Linksys USBM128M Disk at first ... when it worked. However, after about 12 months of use I have had it completely and catastrophically fail. I can't get it to work on any Windows XP system I have tried. Windows reports that the device was added but when I try to access the drive either from a command shell or from the GUI, I get an error that the disk is not ready or has not been formatted. Linksys technical support was mostly useless. So, I have 128MB of data that I cannot access and no way to move large data from PC to PC when not networked. The failure period on a totally solid state device should be a lot longer than the year that I have had this product. I purchased a SanDisk Cruzer as a replacement. Hope it performs better.

That's it! perfect... works as a peferct hard drive. You can carry anywhere you want and i have never had a problem. I was thinking whether was intersting to buy a palm top to carry my files or not. However. Why do you need a palm top? Everywhere you go you can find a computer. Just carry your usb key with you and you don't need anything else. Buy it!!!!

Bought this item in June and it has worked flawlessly. I swap files between Windows 2000 at work and Windows ME at home. The only issue with W2K is that I have to boot the computer with the USB disk installed in the port, or it won't be recognized. But then I can take it in and out as often as needed until I reboot. So I just have to plan ahead or face a shut down and startup.
There are no issues with ME, it just works. So much more convenient than burning CD's!
One minor complaint, the attachment to the case seems a bit weak, in other words, it comes out very easily. I'd never trust it around my neck.
