Another quality book from Mr. Jackson. Brilliant photographs, easy to read, enough to give one a thirst! Doesn't seek to impose his views by ratings (which I found a surprise). Unusual shape / format for the book, in a chunky style which I liked. I'm sure an enthusiast for beer like Jackson would like to have put many more than 500 beers into the book if it was at all possible.

I'm not sure anyone in the world has sampled more brews than Michael Jackson. No, not that Michael Jackson. This one is (from what I've been able to discern) the pre-eminent beer critic in the world.

"Great Beer Guide" covers several hundred beers from all over the world but avoids the "x number of stars" format and, in fact, doesn't offer a numerical rating at all. It's assumed that if the beer was good enough to make it into this guide that it qualifies at the top of it's class, whether it be a pilsner, lager, or ale, or even one of the exotics like a lambic or barleywine.

The biggest draw of this book for me was the layout. Each of the 500+ pages is occupied by a single beer, which is pictured in both it's bottle incarnation and also as a draft, giving you not just an idea of what the beer looks like but also the official glassware it's intended to be served in. Some of the more unusual glassware includes a beer from Oregon that is served in a pint glass with a half-log as it's base!

In addition to the pictures the text also tells you what type of beer it is, where it's from, the alcohol content by both volume and gravity, and finally a description of the beer itself (again, there is no effort made to play favorites, but if the description sounds up your alley it would be more than worth your time to track the beer down).

Alas, many of the beers listed in the book have limited distribution, so depending on where you live you'll probably only have access to a reasonably small percentage of these brews. Nonetheless, I was able to track down quite a few by special order that the local liquor stores would probably have never stocked of their own accord. And who knows? If you find yourself doing a lot of travelling you might just manage to cross all of these off your list sooner or later. But I doubt it.

This book is a fantastic, eloquently edited edition which works well either on your coffee table or in your hand, while the other hand is holding a beer. Not for Generic Beer Drinkers ("lousy beer drinkers"), this volume is both educational and endlessly entertaining. It returns us to the real spirit of beer, and allows us reprieve from the "low carb beer" trend sweeping the land, at least in America. Hoist a glass, or many to this excellent book.

This is the best selling album of all time, and its reeditioning is nothing short of incredible, this is Mr. Jackson's greatest album, and one of my personal favourites
1. Wanna be startin' somethin': An amazing track which I love, and which I always listen to
2. Baby be mine: a wonderful song probably few peole see to its full extent, I personally love this softish song
3. The girl is mine: A wonderful song, and a great duet.
4. Thriller: An amazing song, which I love, specially the rap by Vincent Price, a wonderful rythmn and beat
5. Beat it: Great rock and roll and great song
6. Billie jean: This is the song, THE song. The greatest song, and the most demanded, incredible
7. Human Nature: Mesmerizing softie, with breathtaking lyrics
8. P.Y.T: Poppy song, which in my opinion, can be a bit better. Anyway, I really like this song
9. The Lady in my life: I love this song, except the end part, but a great opening song

Plus the bonus material is great and not to be missed

Thriller:The special edition (remastered) is a heaven-sent gift to all true music lovers. I won't even go into how great it is for Michael Jackson fans...! I'm sure they (you) know what it means to them. As well as the original songs featured on the album, Michael & Bruce Swedien bless us with never-before released material, as well as rare interviews about Thriller and the magic that went into its making. The sound quality is superior, which is a plus - and apart from the jewels like "Billie Jean" and "Human Nature", etc; this album also features gems like "Someone In The Dark" (recorded for the E.T. storybook back in '82) & "Carousel" (a Thriller outtake). With these two extra tracks, Thriller is all the more a SUPERB album, in every sense of the word. One almost wonders why they were never included in the first place! You are also treated to a clip of Michael's original demo for "Billie Jean", as well as Vincent Price's voice overdub on the RAP-part in Thriller (SPOOKY!)Anyhow, Thriller: The special edition (remastered) is simply a MUST. A heaven-sent gift from a true musical genius! Props to Quincy Jones' stunning production as well. The whole team had a magic and a power that is evident when you listen to the album. So without further ado (and there's not much one can say really!), buy this album, and experience true bliss.....you won't regret it.

Theres no question that this was overhyped. It doesn't matter. It deserves to be. One thing though I would like to say is that, even though this is a perfect album, I find albums like Dangerous, Bad, History and Blood On The Dancefloor to be better.

I do think this was a better follow up to Off The Wall.

Michael Jackson, the biggest selling recording artist in history, proves himself with the biggest selling album in history.

The best tracks are Wanna Be Startin Somethin, Baby Be Mine, Girl Is Mine, Billie Jean, Beat It, Human Nature and PYT!

Songs like Lady In My Life shows that he can sing beautiful ballads. The title song, "thriller" gets annoying so i skip that track often.
