In her own words, Celine describes her life, the good times and the bad. A rags to riches story as they say. Who better to write a book about Celine than herself. Go beyond an author's point of view and go behind the scenes to look at the adventure called life as told by Celine Dion. You can read how Celine got through thick and thin. You can laugh with her, cry with her, love with her, feel with her. You can personally find out more about Celine than anyone you know. After reading this book, fan or not, you will understand her emotions and know what it is like in this hard, musical life of a diva. You will then understand that fame isn't always fortune and that it doesn't happen overnight. Celine will share her thoughts on fame and how to rise above all. How to become a diva. Celine will know, like many other things in the music business. Reading this book will help you deal with your pain while reading how Celine dealt with hers. After reading this book, you have an I.Q. of Celine that noone will believe.
A modern-day Trilby
Rating: 2/5
The power of Celine Dion's voice is not to be denied, but to read her "autobiography" is a disturbing experience to those of us who are not devoted fans. "My Story, My Dream" is one of those "everything I've done and everyone I've met is so wonderful" books, and while Ms. Dion's name is on the cover, it is the hand of her husband/manager Rene Angelil that appears on every page. Far from presenting him as the near-god she (and the rest of her family) obviously believes him to be, Ms. Dion's gushing worship instead reveals Angelil for what he truly is--a master marketer and charming manipulator. He dangled the carrot of stardom in front of Ms. Dion's family, who then had no compunctions about handing their twelve-year-old daughter to a middle-aged man who essentially separated his young charge from everything she had ever known in order to "make her a star." In the process, he thoroughly convinced a young, impressionable girl that HE was the only one who knew what was best for her. Is it any wonder that Ms. Dion fastened her affections on him, the only man outside her family he ever allowed to get near her? That Angelil made Ms. Dion the success she is today is undeniable, but he also has made her a emotionally fragile puppet who will probably self-destruct if something ever happens to her master--and "My Story, My Dream" is by no means reassuring otherwise.
Good, but write a sequel!

When she finishes the book, she's finally become pregnant. She wishes it to be a little girl, because she feels that a little boy would be cold to her. She did end up having a little boy. I would like to see how this has worked with her career, her time at Caesar's Palace, and her fathers death. Many of the stories in her book are very touching, but she tends to be on the melodramatic side more times then not. I have to agree with the reviewer who wrote that it was disturbing to read about her ideas of seducing Rene Angelil when she was 14. Rene and Celine have a beautiful love story, but at 14 that would be wrong, and it feels invading to read it. She does come across as a diva in many points, but all of these shortcomings are minor compared to the wonderful story she writes.
Celine Dion is remarkable; her skills as a composer or songwriter are not worth mentioning, but her skilled voice has earned her the mass adoration of record buyers all over the world. After the massive sales of especially 'The Colour Of My Love', 'Falling Into You' and 'Let's Talk About Love', and the end of a decade of megasales it was the perfect time to release this first Epic retrospective of her achievements. The album is not like many other compilations; there are only nine of her biggest hits on here. Anyone wanting to hear 'If You Asked Me To', 'Only One Road' or 'All By Myself' will, however, not be disappointed, because the album also includes seven new songs. The James Horner penned 'Then You Look At Me' is one of the beautiful new songs, as is 'Live'. Her tender cover version of 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' is at the least intriguing. Her 'duet' with Frank Sinatra on the title track 'All The Way' will not be to everyone's taste, but if it aims to honour the late singer it is sufficient. The upbeat 'That's The Way It Is' - another massive hit - is a surprising break from the old routine. The nine 'greatest hits' all sound fine. It was a mistake to open the album with a cover version, but her 1994 version of 'The Power Of Love' is still a good song - though it still doesn't equal the original version sung by Jennifer Rush. 'Think Twice' - a millionseller in the U.K. - is one of the most powerful ballads of the nineties. An excellent addition is also the Japanese number one hit 'To Love You More'. Her cover version of 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' should have been present in the full version instead of the radio remix. And her beautifully sung soundtrack to Titanic, 'My Heart Will Go On', is of course her signature song. Celine does what she's good at. You know what to expect when you buy a new Celine release, and, apart from 'That's The Way It Is', the seven new songs are hardly a surprise. Without ever misusing her vocal instrument, she creates perfect pop. This anthology is therefore to recommended.
Can this woman ever disappoint me?

I wasn't going to get this album when I heard that Celine was releasing a greatest hits. I was like, well I don't need it. I have a lot of her stuff. Then I saw that the album contained seven new songs. What! I had to get it. I pre-ordered it on Thursday and received it yesterday (thanks Amazon, y'all are quick), and I love it. That's the Way It Is is the bomb, If the Walls Could Talk is incredible, everything is just great, old and new. The only thing I didn't like was the inclusion of the radio edit for To Love You More. I think the complete version of that song should've been included on the album. It's a fantastic song and shouldn't be cut in any way, shape, or form. In addition, I think Celine is a great singer and a classy lady. She relies on the sheer power of her voice and delivers a quality product each time, and you can tell she would never sacrifice her image for anything (unlike another trampy singer who will remain nameless). She looks great! I wish her happiness, but must selfishly say that I hope she doesn't take too long of a break. What are we going to do without that glorious voice?
Beautiful and Heart Warming Songs
Rating: 3/5
Celine Dion has an amazing and beautiful voice, and the songs here showcase it wonderfully. Although I feel a few essential songs have escaped the collection, ie. 'All By Myself' and 'Think Twice', the majority of the songs here are great. Highlights include 'The Power Of Love', 'Beauty and The Beast', 'Because You Loved Me', 'That's The Way It Is' and the incredible and beautiful 'To Love You More'. The massive and Grammy-award winning hit 'My Heart Will Go On' is nice as well. The only reason I didn't give this album 4 stars is that I feel some of the songs are fillers, but all in all this album is an essential addition to any record collection.
"Quest for Camelot" may not be Disney in the way that the animation isn't as good as some of Disney's best, but still, it's one of my favorite kids movie of all time!
At a very young age, Kaley (Jessalyn Gilsig) had always wanted to be a knight just like her father. But her father is killed by the evil knight Ruber (Gary Oldman) and she is left alone to live with her mother, Lady Julianna (Jane Seymour). Now a young woman, Kaley finds out that the legendary sword of King Arthur (Pierce Brosnan), Excalibur, has been stolen by Lord Ruber. But fortunately, Ruber's griffin (Bronson Pinchot) had lost the sword in the Forbidden Forest. Lady Julianna is captured by Ruber to be used to get inside Camelot which Ruber is going to seize. It's up to Kaley to find the sword and return it to its rightful owner. With the help of the handsome hermit Garett (Cary Elwes), and the two-headed dragon Cornwall and Devon (Don Rickles and Eric Idle), she must stop Ruber from taking over Camelot.
The quest is a magical journey, a fun-filled fantasy. Probably the best parts about this movie is 1) the impressive voice talents, 2) the sensational songs, and 3) the hilarous humor! The remarkable cast includes Cary Elwes (best known as Wesley in "The Princess Bride" and Robin Hood in Mel Brook's "Robin Hood: Men in Tights"), Don Rickles (in my favorite movie, "Kelly's Heroes), Eric Idle (in "80 Days Around the World" and Monty Python), Gary Oldman (best for his bad guy roles in "Air Force One", "The Fifth Element", and "Lost in Space"), Jane Seymor (I just love her in "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and 007's "Live and Let Die), and Pierce Brosnan (from the old tv show detective Remington Steel and of course he's the newest James Bond).
The songs are as I said just sensational! My favorite songs are the duet version of the song "Looking Through Your Eyes" (sung by Adrea Corr from the music group, The Corrs and Bryan White), "The Prayer" (sung by Celine Dion), "On My Father's Wings" (also sung by The Corrs), and "If I Didn't Have You". "If I Didn't Have You" is sung hilariously by Don Rickles and Eric Idle. I love the part at the end where they are Elvis Presley.
"Quest for Camelot" is also so funny! The best lines are said by the two-headed dragon Cornwall and Devon. Here are a few of my favorites: Cornwall (to Kaley): My name is Cornwall, but you can call me Corny for short." Devon: Yes, short on wit, manners, and charm.
Cornwall: "Houston, we have a problem." (I'm sure you all recognize that line from Tom Hank's "Apollo 13"!)
So if you still haven't seen this movie, I assure you that you're missing out on one of the best kids movie ever! Also, it would be really worth it if you get the "Quest for Camelot" soundtrack. If you've enjoyed this movie, I also recommend another one of my favorite kids film, "The Emperor's New Groove" by Disney.
A wonderful Fantasy!
Rating: 5/5
This movie has action, adventure, a bit of romance, and lots of humor! The story is about a young girl named Kayley, who's father had been killed protecting King Author from the evil villian named Sir Ruber. The magical sword, Excalibur, had been stolen by a Griffen but is lost because of a silver-winged hawk called Ayden. Kayley goes off into the Forbidden Forest to search for it and she meets Garret who used to be a stable boy but went away to live as a hermit because his eyes were blinded in an horrible accident. He lives alone with Ayden who guides him along the way. As they go off in search for Excalibur, they meet a two-headed dragon(s) who hates 'each other'. Together, they search for the magical sword. Any fantasy-lover would love this movie. The voice of Garret is Cary Elwes and Kayley's voice is Jessalyn Gilsig. Sir Ruber's voice is Gary Oldman. This story is great for watching together with your family! This is my favorite Disney animation movie.

This movie is a little over priced but If you can get it out of the $5.50 bin at wall mart it isn't so bad.
